My Birthday Present

I had looked forward to this moment since I was seven years old.  There’s nothing about me saying that, that isn’t totally serious.  I’ve always been a bubble-gum pop music-loving gal.  Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Martika, and the boys.  The New Kids.

The New Kids on the Block.  I loved them enough to have a poster of Joey and my Momma did Pin the Kiss on Joe for my 3rd grade birthday party in lieu of Pin the Tail on the Donkey.  Looking back, I was a tad obsessed…yathink?!  That’s not healthy for a 3rd grader…

DF bought me and two friends tickets to see this epic event.  Lady Gaga opened (radmusictotallybuyingherCD) and Natasha Bedingfield (beautiful singer w/ an even more beautiful voice…but not my kind of gig) finished up with the audience before the boys arrived.

Then, they arrived.  And I went NUTS!!  Nuts I tell you.  Crazy screaming, hands in the air, need a breathing bag to prevent hyperventilation kind of nuts.  Kristen took video footage and you can hear my Psycho-approved scream for a good portion of the two-minutes recorded.

Here’s my favorite:  Joey (with his still swoon-worthy vocals)

And here’s me FREAKING OUT during their first encore with my favorite song:  Step by Step

An epic evening I will never forget.  That’s one more item crossed off the Bucket List.

Kristen,
I’m sure he’s got something up his sleeve; he always manages to surprise me. Last year he bought me the camera, which I knew about. Then on Christmas Eve he surprised me with a gohorgeous necklace; I was so excited but upset at the same time because of the amount of money I knew he spent on me…I know I should just be grateful and shut my face but sometimes it’s hard to swallow that part of my pride and just be accepting to thoughtful gifts.

Debbie,
You are such a goofball. My birthday isn’t until December 1st. :) The tickets were a very early birthday gift, lol.
